Interpretation of the Quran and Sunnat
The Final revalation of Allah Subhanahu is the Quran and the final Deen is Islam and complete as Allah subhanahu says:
“This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favor unto you, and have chosen for you as religion AL- ISLAM”. (Surah Ma’edah, Ayat 3)
Rasulallah (SA) was the only person who had the right to interprete the Quran during his life and he taught the muslim ummah the rituals of Daaim ul islam. The muslims in those days used to look up to him for their querries regarding their Deen and Rasulallah (SA) used to answer them to their content.
It is agreed by the muslim ummah that even though the Quran is complete, it needs to be interpreted to solve the problems that arise each day. Rasulallah (sa) used to interprete them when ever need arose. Interpretation of the Quran is a part of Shari’at and the legal concepts of Islam. It is agreed the Rasulallah (SA) is the lawmaker of Islam by the commands of Allah and the knowledge imparted to him through ‘Wahye’. If Allah has completed the Deen of Islam it is not to be doubted that he had taught Rasulallah (SA) each and every aspect of life, or else the law would remain incomplete.
Whilst intellect is a gift to man from Allah, this intellect cannot be used to decide on matters of deen, even if one is learned, because the the path to Allah and the interpretation of His deen is something Allah has bestowed to one person alone in each age. Intellect excercised by everone independently can only lead to multiple interpretations which ultimately causes nothing but confusion. Surely Allah and His Rasul would not have allowed that to happen?
Since Islam and the Quran are final revelations of Allah and will remain unchanged till the day of Qiyamat it cannot be doubted that Allah has revealed all needs of mankind that will arise till the Qiyamat to Rasulallah.
To give an example the aeroplane did not exist during those days, but Allah had surely known the Gaib and to complete the Deen he should have taught Nabi Saheb (SA) about it and all the aspects of Shar’iat related to it. Surely he would have taught it to him, and Rasulallah (SA) being the Ameen of Allah passed the knowledge to someone who would be liable to pass it on till the day arrived. And he did! Did he (SA) not say that: “The most learned in legal matters, is Ali.”
The legal matters of Islam is the Shariat and since Ali (AS) was the most learned in legal matters as agreed upon by all the Ashab of Rasulallah (SA), it can be concluded that Rasulallah had passed on all the knowledge that he had to Amirul Mumineen (AS), the knowledge that would be needed from time to time, after Rasulallah (SA), when questions arose.
Rasulallah (SA), the Ameen of Allah Subhanahu, had indeed chosen a Ameen for the treasury of knowledge that Allah had entrusted him to. He had handed over the Amanat to Amirul Mumineen (SA) and thus it has since been passed on to the progeny (Imams) of Rasulallah (SA), who by the knowledge passed on to them from Rasulallah (SA) interprete the Quran in times of need and guide the Ummat to the right path, just as Rasulallah had done it. It is through the Barakaat of ‘Wahye’, that is passed on to them, that they can carry on this immense task. Allah Subhanahu says:
“This Our Book speeks against you with truth. Lo! We have caused (all) that ye did to be recorded.” (Surah 45, Ayat 29)
On reciting this Ayat Amirul Mu’mineen (SA) placed the Quran on his head and called upon it to speek. Then he called himself Qur’an-e- Natiq (voiced), and the book itself Qur’an-e-Samit (silent) to elaborate this point.
Rasulallah (SA) has pointed out this relation of the Quran and his progeny when he said: “I leave behind two things, the Book of Allah (Qur’an) and my progeny (Imams). Whosover adheres to them both will never go astray.”
It is the progeny of Rasulallah (SA) the pious Fatemi Imams (AS) who are the gaurdians of Islam and the interpreters of the Quran. It is they who guide the who are entrusted with the Amanat of Rasulallah’s knowledge and during their seclusion they have passed on the Barakaat of this knowledge to Doat Kiram for the guidance of Mumineen so that the favor of Allah remains complete on the Mumineen of all ages just as it was during the presence of Rasulallah (RA) and they can quench their thirst of curiosity and doubt from the fountain of knowledge.
The heir to this legacy is our beloved Moula (TUS) who with the aid of Allah’s Noor and Raza of Imam-uz-Zaman (SA) guides Mumineen to the right path and Deen-e-Islam. An obedient slave of Allah he is and Naib of the progeny of Rasulallah who is entrusted with the unique treasure of knowledge and wisdom for the guidance of Mumineen. May Allah Grant him a long and healthy life and bless his mansoos and heir Maulaya Aali Qadr a healthy life uunder the benovelant shade of Aqa Maula (TUS).
